It’s time for a “Genuine Revolution of Values”
“True compassion is more than flinging a coin to a beggar. It comes to see that an edifice which produces beggars needs restructuring.”—Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., April 4, 1967
“Let us develop a kind of dangerous unselfishness.”—Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., April 3, 1968
Thank you Democracy Now for broadcasting these truly inspiring speeches, straight from the King himself.
I was 4 months old when Martin Luther King was assassinated on April 4, 1967. I’m sure that the culmination of events leading to his last speech and the conversations that went on afterward are the basis of the ideals and values that I try to live up to today.
I’ve never really realized this until just this moment. I’ve never listened to his speeches at any length until now.
He really is/was the Ultimate Yogi, as my yogi friend Clara Chare said on Facebook today. A wise wise man who used his 39 years of life fully and completely.
If you do nothing else today, take 5 minutes to sit in silence and reflect on what you can do to change our world from a “thing-oriented society to a people-oriented society”.
Take care.

I fully appreciate the dedication of people who make the time to complete a vision in order to show us a different perspective.
If we really think about it, is it really a surprise to see the infinity symbol here?
I think not.

Banksy’s Exit Through The Gift Shop (via banksyfilm)
Excellently filmed portrayal of the success of humanity’s insanity. This is real. You can’t make this shit up. Or maybe you can. Who cares!
This man didn’t have a plan, he wasn’t thinking about what he was going to do next. He goes with the flow, not a care in the world. With the innocence and curiosity of a child he just did what came naturally to him.
This is what might happen if we let go, don’t make plans. Live life, record it all, then look back and watch your life, without judgement.
Absolutely fabulous!

Deepak Chopra on Q TV (via Qtv)
Deepak Chopra speaks of the truth. Every time I question his integrity I listen to him speak and my doubt is erased.
If we all aspired to live our lives with half the integrity and focus he has lived our world would most certainly be more balanced.

Amazing person discovery #9, Barbara Brown Taylor.
Barbara Brown Taylor is a fabulous speaker and has a very interesting perspective on the miracle of life and how it feeds our soul. Her latest book is called An Alter in the World: A Geography of Faith. Before you tune out, hear me out. This is not a self-righteous religious book, it’s a book about life, grounded in observation of her awareness as she moves through her daily life.
The subject that caught my attention was when she spoke about how important our bodies are in shaping our souls. She talked of praying naked in front of a mirror.
Imagine you are on your knees, naked, staring at yourself. First thought is probably shame, maybe some disgust because, now it’s right in front of you staring you in the face, your imperfect naked body.
But if you remain in this position after the initial shock, don’t you start to see and feel how wonderful and amazing your body is? How it’s carried you through this life and how it’s not the same body you had when you were a child? But it’s still you. It is a representation of everything in your life, your soul. Your body is the miracle of life, your spiritual receptor.
It will change your life if you set aside 30 minutes right now to listen to this interview and then take another 10 minutes to share your thoughts here in the comments below.
Barbara Brown Taylor is an amazing person living her bliss, even if she is an ordained Episcopalian priest, I’m not going to hold that against her.

On first glance I guess you might think this photo could have been taken from an airplane but it wasn’t.
Aaron Gustafson took this photo from a large format helmet-cam he created specifically for taking photos while free-falling from an airplane.
This is the craziest/coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time.

By design, a company’s culture goes to the dogs
Amazing case study of how Lee Clow (my new favourite person) and his team turned the Pedigree dog food company into “a company that loves dogs”.
What Lee Clow has done with his life and how his passion has influenced and changed the world is deeply inspiring to me. I want to have stories like his to tell about my life when I’m sixty-five.
